How long can I borrow items for?

The due back date is stamped on the inside of the cover if issued at the Service Desk, or can be printed by request if issued at a self-service machine. You should renew or return your items by this due date. You can check your due dates at any time by clicking “sign in” in the left hand corner of the Library Catalogue and navigating to My Loans. Please note that it is the responsibility of the borrower to ensure they return their items on time.
The following loan periods apply:

DVDs | 1 Week |
Reading List Items | 3 Hours |
Journals | Reference Only |
Dissertations | Reference Only |
Reading List items
- Reading List items are issued for 3 hours
- Borrowers can take a maximum of 2 items at any one time
- Reading List items can now be taken out of the Library
Can all items be borrowed?
The following categories of material are for reference only and cannot be borrowed. They can however be consulted in the Main Library – just ask at the Service Desk for items not on the open shelves. Our catalogue will tell you whenever an item is located in any of these collections.
