How do users log in to Canvas with external accounts?

We have different types of external users of Canvas. These include external examiners, visiting lecturers, and students taking part in certain events such as Winter School.
You can spot external users because they will usually use their own email, and have an 'x' or 'WSX' at the end of their username, such as R.Olivax.
External users can't log in through the normal Canvas login page. Instead, they should visit: https://canvas.gsa.ac.uk/login/canvas
