I have found an Open Access journal article online. Can I embed this in Canvas and share it with my students?
Answer
A large number of research articles are legitimately published Open Access, either on a publisher or gallery website or via an institutional repository. These can be accessed by students without a login, and can be legitimately shared with them. In all cases, you should embed a link to the article in your Canvas course, using our guidance on creating stable links. Do not download the text and then upload this to Canvas - the text will become decoupled from its OA context, and will likely be viewed a copyright infringement at a later date.
